Delta/Airline gurus?

I am trying to plan our summer exuma trip. We normally do LFT or MSY to GGT through Atlanta. I am seeing nothing but Saturday departures on delta starting in June. And they are all pretty expensive. In the past GGT had a daily flight from ATL and then back. I am as loyal as I can be to delta/amex, especially when the alternative is AA. I’d also like to use my free companion pass for this case. I can’t understand why they would scale this back. Every mid week flight I’ve ever been on to or from GGT was completely full. I searched for press on a route scale back and asked the homeowners and nobody knows a thing. Any insights? Am I too early?

There's a daily flight right now to GGT. I'm not sure if they reduced the schedule over the summer or if they just haven't extended the schedule that far out yet. I'd lean towards them not extending the schedule yet given it's 5/6 months out.
Be cautious about this statement. Just because flights are full doesn't mean they've been profitable for Delta. You even mention the fares are more expensive for what is currently available than in the past. Delta might have realized they were losing money on the route and want to squeeze as much out as they can. This route also looks to be a single daily flight so not many other options for flyers (aka they can charge as much as they want)

Thanks cuse! They’ve always been steep which is understandable for an out island. I’ll keep watching. I’d like to go ahead and secure the house, but didn’t plan to go with the masses on a Saturday. Small island like that gets chaotic and hard to get provisions. They had a sandals there that is sold/closed for renovation. I guess I was nervous that delta might be rethinking the route.

You could secure the house and later book your flights. However you're going to be stuck with whatever the price is eventually and just pray it goes down... Other thought is to book two one-ways, maybe American there on a weekday and delta back on a Saturday? At least you'd be splitting those costs and still get to use the companion pass one way.
The sandals closing may have had something to deal with it but Im leaning towards delta just not extending the schedule yet. Caribbean during June is peak vacation time especially for people with kids out of school. I could very well be wrong though

With the Delta AmEx it's really a waste to only use the companion ticket for a one way.

You could also fly Delta to NAS and then book BahamasAir from NAS to GGT. Not as ideal as flying direct, but if the dates/prices don't line up then it is at least an alternative, and you would be able to use your companion pass for the main leg.
I'd give it a bit though, they probably just haven't added the flights to the schedule yet.

Do you need to be captive to Delta? Under $800 before tax on United. I suppose because of the companion pass, but being captive sounds like it's inconveniencing you.

United does not really service all the way to Exuma. It would be silver airways into GGT. The route is LFT to IAH to FLL to GGT with the return a 21 hour travel day. THAT is inconvenient.
I can use the companion pass elsewhere, but it's a good value for this route and typically this route is slammed all summer on delta. It's surprising there isn't a schedule out thus the question for those who may understand things better than me. I am a loyal United card/status/mile holder too. It just not a good choice for this destination.

Schedule should be out through the summer. Not sure why some are saying it isn't. Airline typically releases flights for purchase 330 days in advance.
