How does the atmosphere at the Legacy Center compare to the atmosphere at the PMAC?

I’ve been to many games in the PMAC, but a friend in Lake Charles has invited me to watch former LSU head basketball coach Will “tPear” Wade and the Bayou Bandits take on the mighty Cardinals of Incarnate Word. I know McNeese has started conference play 10-0 for the first time in program history, so I would expect it to be lit, even on a Monday.

I’ve experienced some great atmospheres in the PMAC, so I’m just wondering if anybody here has been to the Legacy Center. If The General conquers the Colonels in Thibodaux this Saturday, the atmosphere should be fire to watch Willy the Kid and the undefeated Pokes continue their march to March. That seems like a better selling point than “come watch LSU play the #1 team for the first time since last time”, but I digress.

Anyway, thread. Any Lake Chuck residents of tRant care to report on the atmosphere in the Legacy Center? I’ll hang up and listen. TIA

Have you been to Lake Chuck? It's the only thing to do there if you aren't throwing your checks at the casinos. Probably the 2nd most exciting thing about that city.

Ive been to a couple games. Personally, I like their new arena. I like small, intimate venu's like that. Auburns is a larger version of that. Its loud, and fun.

Depends on the game, but for a Lamar, Nicholls, ULL, or conference tournament game, it gets really loud! The student section leaves MUCH to be desired tho. They show up, but other than some frat guys right at the bottom behind the goal, they just sit and watch instead of doing chants or getting loud.

It compares at most to a good Louisiana high school basketball game.

Comparing apples to apples. I’d put a rocking PMAC up w the best of them.

However the PMAC is dead currently.

Legacy is nice and new. Having a winner has elevated the experience. Games are fun.

I went to one last year. The new area is really nice for McNeese. It was packed. Crowd wasn't crazy rowdy, but it was a decent atmosphere. This was on a week night too. 10/10 would recommend.

This just isn't true. The arena is way nicer than any high school gym I've ever been to, and I've been to tons. It's not the same kind of crowd as two heavyweight high school teams will bring, if you catch my drift.

Sure as hell won’t ever see the #1 team in the country playing in the Legacy Center. Thats fun they get excited about playing Nicholls State though

Well McNeese will probably be excited about playing in the NCAA tournament for the second straight year. So there is that.

McNeese also played a tougher OOC schedule than LSU did. But hang your hat on whatever you can find, because you don't have many options.

Relevance? So will South Dakota St & Central Connecticut State, that doesn’t mean they have a great atmosphere

I don't think you should be beating your chest about the atmosphere in the PMAC either. Especially considering tickets would be cheaper to attend every LSU home game the remainder of the season than it would McNeese. Let that sink in.

You are constantly moving the bar all over the place, and coming up empty at each stop.

They did a good job with the arena and it came at a great time.

They had over 4500 last weekend for a game and it was packed and very loud. Can’t ask for much more for a Southland team. And I love arenas with low ceilings. Sounds sooo much better
