Los Suenos Costa Rica - Advice?

Heading to Los Suenos soon to do some fishing for a few days. Wondering about travelling into a third world country with cash and a laptop. Are their Customs and Immigration corrupt or should be pretty safe to carry that stuff through? Concerned about getting shook down for some cash or a laptop...
TIA
TIA

We've been to Costa Rica several times and never had any problems at all. I usually don't travel with much over $1,000 cash though.

never ever had an issue flying into or out of Costa Rica.
Los Suenos is great. enjoy the Hook Up bar at the marina. great spot to grab some beers after a long day on the water.

No need to worry, I've been to Suenos 4 times and never had a problem. Beautiful place

No, you won't have any problems like that.
Los Suenos is very nice, as others have said -- unless you're looking for a while-sand beach (it's fairly muddy). But I saw some scarlet macaws fly overhead my first morning there. It's a great place to relax by a pool.

Los Suenos used to be my jam. Your fears are unfounded. There are no shakedowns. They will be very friendly and helpful as Ticos tend to be. There is however a long line at customs. You will love it there. No downside other than San Jose traffic. Fishing with Maverick?

Very near there you can rent a side by side for a self guided tour. We did that and went to the top of the mountain closest to there and had a cup of genuine Costa Rican coffee made on a very old wooden burning oven stovetop. We saw two red macaws flying out through the forest, several toucan birds and quite a few monkeys too. I wish I could give business names but it was one of those things we did not expecting much on the spur of the moment that turned into a lifetime memory.

Thanks to all! Yes, fishing with Maverick....split the group on 2 boats for day 1. Day 2 our whole group is fishing 1 boat. Looking forward to it!

Maverick is a great operation. I believe Will from Lake Charles still owns that operation. The entire operation and the Los Suenos community is top notch! on your way in from San Jose stop in Tarcoles and see the croc bridge. You can buy little shirts and hats at that little tourist trap there . If you want a day trip the trip to La Tortuga is nice- and they will feed you and ply you with cocktails.
