Mouton Cove/Cow Island area...TIA

Looking for a Vermilion parish baw…

With a tractor/equipmwnt That I could pay to come and prep a little rice field pond that went back to nature 20 yrs ago. My in-laws on the land and it is no longer farmed. The field was hunted last year so I mostly just need to clear out the chicken trees and weeds in front and back of the pit blind, and on the trail/levee, maybe pump from the nearby canal a little? I’m not a hardcore duck hunter, but would like to have a little place I can go watch the sun rise and maybe shoot a duck with my kiddos…I figured if I could pay a guy who is already in that area for a day or two due to my lack of available time, that’d at least help get me started. TIA

What’s the wall thickness on that, t boy?

I never forget a decal I saw on a truck in Houma years ago, “Nothing finer than a pipeliner”. I think you have a chance…
All, considering taking the family to the DFW area around Christmas time. My daughters are big into the American Girl Doll stuff and I know there is a huge store there....was going to let this be some sort of "Christmas Gift Trip". Personally, I always like staying on water, so I was considering renting an AirBNB/VRBO on one of the lakes around that area. I am OK to drive an hour from said place of stay to the Dallas/American Girl Store place. Looking for other cool recommendations on things to do around that area that time of the year. The other part of the gift is that my girls are young and have never flown, so considering putting my wife and kids on a plane for that experience and me driving up separately so I have a car and carseats to tag around town once they arrive. It's about a 5 hour drive for me but only about 1:15 min flight from LFT. TIA

YEEEEESSSSSSSS! ^this. I wonder if their great grandfather was Irish
Looks like a great trip! What make/model kayaks do y’all use for this? I’m assuming the pedal type like the hobos mirage drive that are so popular in southLA would not work well due to those rocky shoals?

Tapo. Made by Deco. Easy wifi interface with great app. Can do battery, wired, or solar powered. 128GB SD card on loop will capture a months worth of video based on your detection zones and alarms. AI recognizes motion, people, pets and vehicles. Also records sounds and will trigger on broken glass or dog barking. Highly recommend. No contract unless you want cloud storage.

Not to hi-jack the thread, but: does Tapo do monitoring like Simplisafe? I am also looking to switch from my local alarm company to something more cost effective. My panel recenly went out with a lightning strike and they want ~$800.00 to do panel and new keybads since mine are so dated....looking for other options like Simplisafe or Tapo, but would like something with the capability of being monitored in case I go that route in the future. Thanks.

Los Suenos used to be my jam. Your fears are unfounded. There are no shakedowns. They will be very friendly and helpful as Ticos tend to be. There is however a long line at customs. You will love it there. No downside other than San Jose traffic. Fishing with Maverick?

Thanks to all! Yes, fishing with Maverick....split the group on 2 boats for day 1. Day 2 our whole group is fishing 1 boat. Looking forward to it!

Los Suenos Costa Rica - Advice?

Heading to Los Suenos soon to do some fishing for a few days. Wondering about travelling into a third world country with cash and a laptop. Are their Customs and Immigration corrupt or should be pretty safe to carry that stuff through? Concerned about getting shook down for some cash or a laptop...
TIA
Deficient in igG. Apparently it’s one that fights off the Streptococcus pneumoniae bacteria which apparently is the common bacteria found in ear infections and upper respiratory infections..
Screw big pharma. What is OMAD and do you speak from experience with these diets as it relates to antibody or autoimmune diagnoses??
No, not yet. Have read people who are very satisfied.
I’m considering it…
Negative. Good question though! I should have clarified that in my original post. Had the VID twice, but no vax.
So I recently received a diagnosis of an antibody deficiency. Basically, my body doesn’t produce a certain antibody and so I get several upper respiratory and ear infections per year. Doc recs antibody infusions. What’s the OT brain trust have to say? TIA
I agree with the bowfishing....I think it needs a tad of restriction, just my $.02.

Second. Where do we think Jeff Landry and his new Wildlife and Fisheries chick from South Dakota land on this issue....do you think the red thing gets reversed and eventually the trout too? I wonder how they feel about the pogey boat issue....it'll be interesting to see what happens, if anything!

Broken Bow fishing?

Heading to tge Hochatown OK area in a couple weeks. Would love to let the kids lay into a few on Broken Bow lake or even trout on the Lower Mtn. Fork River. Any tips from the OB brain trust? TIA
Can you school a dummy who hangs out on the OT and Outdoor board? I currently participate in START for my kids....I don't understand the 2% match you mention. I understand the 6% you are referring to is the fact that the tax is defferred (so you are avoiding the 6% now) however, dont you have to pay tax on earnings when you withdraw it?

How do you do it in Freshwater bayou? Running set nets or traps or is there a dam somewhere you set up on? Thinking about taking kids soon and w/ superior bridge out, FWB is closer to Laf. than Rockefeller. TIA

Never mind, I just reread your post. Sounds like drop nets running from the boat, no dam.
