That's the 4th Crusade and it was more about Venice-byzantine and the Veincians using the Crusaders to settle their score with eastern Romans. Orgianlly they were set to invade egypt. The crusaders couldnt pay for the venician fleet and at the time the eastern romans and venicians had bad blood.

I did. He told me the story about the Shah invading Eastern Empire. Confused, the shah questioned the commanders why are they fighting him, when Christ told them to turn the other cheek. The commanders responded that they are upholding Christ's commandment by loving each other, for this reason we are willing to lay down our lives for our friends/neighbors. Because you will invade and enslave us.
