They have about a 300mill endowment. 40k a year tuition. I’m sure he got paid a pretty penny to leave.

Newman is 32k a year and does not have as large of an endowment….but the largest in the City for independent schools and it’s not even close.

Sure the Manning era OC issue and other issues weighed more into his decision making than just leaving his alma mater for a larger salary.

Those issues were almost certainly involved but this is an odd jump to me still. He is not just an alum but from a family entrenched in New Orleans.

Maybe he doesn’t want to be around after lawsuit.

And their campus is bigger than a lot of small colleges. It's fricking massive.

They have money coming out of their arse.

ETA: I had no idea that the previous coach had left. Good. Dude was a major a-hole..

Hell yes!! He should have been replaced years ago. My nephew will be a senior next year and I know he's excited for the change. Westminster is getting a coach that lost his last game 31-0 at home in the play offs. Nelson is a good guy, but not a very good coach.

I can understand the opinion but are the replacement options better? Not exactly the school to jumpstart a coaching career.

I wonder if it was suggested to him to look elsewhere?

Of which lawsuit are you speaking is what I should have asked. I am aware of no open ones.

When they came up to play Many that time it must have been like Ignatius J. Reilly riding the Greyhound to Baton Rouge.

i know several other schools that reached out to him when they had openings, other coaches respect him a great deal. I never had a negative interaction with him
