Anyone going to the James McMurtry show Friday night at Chickie Wah Wah's in NOLA? And if so, do you have an extra ticket or so you might wish to part with in exchange for US currency? I unfortunately let this one sneak up on me and I think the Friday show sold out.

Oh, for sure, McMurty is a liberal and you might hear a couple of things you disagree with if you're, like me, of a more conservative bent. But he has crafted some real gems, and he delivers them very well. I would be surprised if you are disappionted.

Yes, he's liberal but performs his craft very well. Americana rocks and he's up there in that genre

I like him too, but he comes across as hating just about everything

Look up "Curmudgeon" and it has his picture. I used to see him sitting in bars in Austin and would try to talk to him, I usually got a grunt, a handshake and an adios.
