Gonna be staying in Lumberton for a couple days. Probably drive over to Beaumont to eat. Any recommendations for that area would be appreciated.

TIA

I stay in Lumberton a good bit. Tia Juanita's Fish Camp is decent. Juan's Mexican is good. Both are in Lumberton. Lumberton also has Longhorn Liquor Store which has an amazing selection of Whiskey - not an on site consumption place though.

Kat's Korner in Silsbee has really good pizza (It's a coffee shop thing, kind of weird but their pizza and dessert is great). Mama Jack's (In Kountze) breakfast buffet is excellent (not sure if it only on the weekends or not).

Red Bird BBQ in Port Neches is outstanding. You will normally have to be in line by 11am though. It's definitely the best BBQ in the area.

If you are looking for Beaumont specifically, Riverside Grille is good.

I enjoyed Patillos bbq. They had some good all beef sausage, which was the highlight. Their sides include "jambalaya" but it is more like dirty rice.

Pappadeaux

If OP lives in South Louisiana, he doesn’t need to eat at Pappadeaux’s. It’s just overpriced bad imitation of Cajun food.

1701 BBQ in Beaumont is great as well. Stop there every time I’m in town for work. The brisket boudin is solid.

It's OK. It's still just a Godfather's Express in a gas station so it doesn't have everything. But they do have one thing that other Express don't have - original crust. Pretty much all the Express only have the abomination "golden crust"

J Wilson’s for great food and wide cocktail and draft beer menu. Buckstin Brewing for craft beer and handmade pizzas. Trust me.

Riverside grille is a good new addition but it’s downtown and not near anything else really.

Rao's Bakery is pretty good for breakfast or lunch. The Beaumont Hot Link (bbq beef sausage) is worth trying. Patillos or Broussard's are the two old school, traditional places that make them.

JWilson's is the best place in Beaumont, IMHO.

They have a cracklin appetizer called "Man Candy" served with a habanero honey sauce and a slice of grilled bread. Damn good.

I am partial to the "Cuban Rueban" sandwich. It is served with a remoulade sauce that is, well . . . . Damn Good.

The "Flank Steak Stack" is Damn Good as well.

Nice place with a nice bar, it doesn't look like much from the outside but it has a pretty cool inside vibe, with its decor and such.
