Not a very likely scenario but say the Saints find themselves on the clock at #9 with no legitimate trade down offers and these guys on the board.

WR - Tet McMillan
DT Mason Graham
CB Will Johnson
DE James Pearce Jr
OT Will Campbell
LB Jalon Walker
DE Mykel Williams

You have to take McMillan right?

I did and ended up with (Most of these guys will go higher than they were available in this mock but this would be a solid draft. )

(1) #9 - WR Tet McMillan
(2) #40 - DT Tyleik Williams
(3) #71 - OL Donovan Jackson
(3) #90 - TE Gunner Helm
(4) #110 - OG Luke Kundra
(4) #128 - LB Danny Stutsman
(6) #182 - S Robert Spears-Jennings
(7) #251 - LB Jack Kiser
(7) #254 - S Jaylen Reed

I am not sure that McMillan will be there at 9, but i sure hope that he is, as well as Abdul Carter. However, as a constellation prize for missing them, i would love to have LB Jalon Walker. Guys is like a young DeMario Davis

I am a firm believer that if you wind up in the top 10, you should always pick a franchise position: QB, CB, LT, DE. History has proven that these guys are not walking through your door in FA, so my list would look something like this.

CB Will Johnson
DE James Pearce Jr
OT Will Campbell
DE Mykel Williams

I don’t think you take a receiver there unless he’s a generational talent and I’m not sure he’s that. Large amount of game changing pass rushers in this draft and imo you need one.

Carter
Williams
Scourton
Graham
Jalon Walker (this isn’t a mlb. This dude can play linebacker and drop down and rush off the edge).
Pearce (not a fan at 240 lbs playing on the line).

This draft his some depth at receivers with Higgins, Williams, horton who are large bodied receivers that you can get later on. If they pass on the trenches in the first couple of rounds we’re setting ourselves up for failure imo.

I like the reports I've read about him being able to line up all over the place and wreak havoc on the QB

Kind of my feeling as well. But man it would be nice to have that Big X-receiver to take the pressure off Olave and Shaheed and open things up.

Same. Not a huge fan of ultra tall receivers as they really seem to be getting phased out of the modern nfl as well with a few exceptions like Evans. Give me the 6 footers who are a lot more twitchy all day.

Build those lines.

I’m not one of these guys that feels this way all the time because there’s so many variables but look at the remaining teams in the playoffs. Not a single one except Philly (d. Smith) has a receiver taken in the top 10. Find your receivers later. You’re gonna have your choice of passrushers and whether that’s a de or Graham falls in your lap you take those players.

Not disagreeing with your point but Amari Cooper was the 4th overall pick.

I honestly didn’t count him on purpose cause they spent a 3rd rounder on him. That’s like counting Hopkins for the chiefs. They aren’t what they used to be.

Man a young Breese/Graham tandem in the middle of your D-Line just sounds enticing.

Zero chance McMillain will be there at 9.

Playing with the PFF draft daily it seems like only LSU tackle falls to us semi regularly.

Would drafting a true RT and moving our Trev to guard make sense?

Seems like it would improve 2 positions with one move

We don’t need a tackle. We need a LG. We need tackle depth but imo there’s going to an elite dlineman available at 9.

Pro Football Network- Traded down a few spots when Scourton and McMillan were gone.

12. Mason Graham DT Michigan
40. Donovan Jackson OG Ohio State
76. Mason TaylorTE LSU
77. Ollie Gordon II RB Oklahoma State
91. Jared Wilson OC Georgia
110. Oronde Gadsden II WR Syracuse
129. Malachi Moore S Alabama
188. Jah Joyner EDGE Minnesota
213. Jonas Sanker S Virginia
2026 DAL 2nd
2026 SF 3rd
2026 NE 4th

PFF won’t let you do trades.

RD1: 9 Nic Scourton Edge Texas A&M
R2: 40 Jayden Higgins WR lowa State
R3: 71 Donovan Jackson OG Ohio State
R3: 91 Josaiah Stewart Edge Michigan

Not dream scenarios, but these are the types of drafts I want. Lots of substance and filling some starters at DE, DT and OG and getting a big WR.

I’ve read a few sites that suggest Campbell will be better suited to move inside in the NFL. Said might not be a long term tackle at least early in his career.

I’ve also read that Penning would fair well inside at least in pass pro because he plays high? I’m not a scout so I don’t know how much of a deal that is.

I do agree with McMillan won’t last to 9.

CB is pretty far down on my list. But in reality, it shows how talent deficient we are that so many people want so many different things.

To be fair the Saint should be drafting BPA with their first 4 picks regardless of position. There’s no position that can’t be majority up graded.
