Noise from bathroom sink

When the heat is running in our home, I can hear noise coming from one of the bathroom sinks (sounds like air blowing). I also feel a slight draft coming from the same sink. Anyone know if this is a big deal and what the fix is? Thank you in advance for any help/advice.

Can you tell where the draft is coming from? The drain hole itself? The wall around the drain hole? One or both of the supply lines?

Any chance your air vent is directly under the vanity, or even cut into the vanity itself?

Yeah, the draft is coming from the actual drain hole.

Is there a p-trap installed under the sink?

Is your air conditioning unit close to that bathroom? If so it could be the condensate drain blowing air or creating a draft in the vent pipe.

Yes, there is. What are you thinking is the cause of the air blowing noise? Any solution advice? Anything to be worried about? Thank you in advance for any thoughts/advice.

If the sink hasn't been used in a while, the p-trap can dry out. That might be an issue.
If that's not it, your A/C vent might tie into that same drain.

This. I had this issue in our last house. Condensate line dripped into the drain line right above our master sink. Drove me nuts hearing drops all night.

This is kind of puzzzling because, as the other posters have said, it sounds like the condensate line from your air conditioner/heating unit is tied into your sink drain (which is nothing out of the ordinary). If that is the case however, it must be tied into your sink above the p-trap for you to be getting air blowing back through the drain.
At any rate, it should not cause any problems as long as there is water in the p-trap.

It could be that the air blowing in it is drying out his p-trap quickly. One tip would be to pour mineral oil down the drain to fill up the p-trap. The water will run through the mineral oil but it should stay sealing the trap.

I can hear an upstairs sink doing this at night. I noticed it stopped when I covered the drain with my hand (change in air flow?). So I put some water in a small zip lock sandwich bag and plopped it over the drain hole. It’s been a nice temporary fix.
