I still can’t fathom why he has been buried on the bench behind guys like Givens.

I don't think so. Williams got more minutes today than Givens. Williams started terribly this year, and I think had trouble with switching defenses, but was getting better. I think Williams has earned his minutes, and may even increase them. His ball handling late in the game was great. Givens will be good, but Williams is better today. Also, V. Miller seems to have lost confidence since SEC play started. He is so talented, that CMM may still let him play, but it wouldn't surprise me if Williams were to keep getting most of the minutes.

it does seem like mike has some skill they need. 3 shooting, and ball handling.

trey'dez was on the bench chatting with vyctorious, who was out with a knee and is day to day

edit oops I meant VM is out with ankle not knee

And inquiring minds would still like to know what went down with Ward.

Even though he made some boneheaded mistakes, he seemed like an overall net positive and I was happy to see him on the court again.

I agree. I thought three of the players who were a big part of last season's vast improvement in SEC play: Ward, Williams and Reed, were going to be a big part in continued improvement of the team. Reed injury sucks, but the other two being buried from the start is confounding.

It is odd. The statement was that he stepped away for mental health reasons, yet they don't anticipate him returning this year. I know mental issues are confounding, but it seems managing and even resolving them seems unpredictable. I wonder what could be so serious that it would keep him out all season. He is very talented, and has proven himself in SEC play, so he would be very valuable to this team. I thought V. Miller would replace him, but Miller has struggled to adjust to SEC play, so we could really use Ward. I hope CMM was wrong about Ward playing this year, and/or I hope he returns next year.
