If tweet fails to load, click here. So let me get this straight
- Fire last GM and hire a new GM that doesn’t get along with Vrabel
- have that GM hire a new coach after firing Vrabel for them not seeing eye to eye
-then fire that GM but keep the new coach the new GM just hired
Yeesh.

Ran Carthon, who was fired after two seasons, signed an extension this past offseason. He has four years remaining on his current deal.

3 out of the 4 AFC South teams appear to be in complete organizational disarray. And the Texans are only a few years removed from being solidly in that category with their owner supposedly playing video games in his office

Texans - Nepo baby owner
Titans - Nepo baby owner
Colts - Nepo baby owner with a pill addiction
Jags - future Nepo baby owner with a pro wrestling addiction
NFL owners are in their Jeb Bush era

The Khan’s also have Fulham FC which has done surprisingly well in the premier league the last 3 seasons. I think the son is more involved there so that may have helped saved (for now) Baalke’s job.

The lesson here is nothing will get you fired from the Titans quicker than losing to the Texans while wearing the Oilers uniforms.
Amy Adams Strunk has been a decent owner for everything expect football operations.
I don’t think Ran should’ve been the sacrificial lamb here. Callahan is clearly in over his head and isn’t ready to be an NFL HC.
Ran at least seems to have at least hit on some of his draft picks, unlike Jon Robinson who whiffed on damn near everyone from 2019-2021.
This team looked horrible in every possible aspect this year. Zero improvement throughout the season. At least with Vrabel, you knew the players were going to give it their all. Callahan’s a nice guy, just not a HC.
And I don’t care what some other Titans fans say, this franchise was trying to be competitive this year and wasn’t focused on tanking until maybe week 13.

To add to the lore here
It seems that Ran Carthon brought on Chad Brinker as an assistant GM when hired
Brinker finds a way to cozy up to the owner and get promoted over Ran for a higher executive position with final say on the roster
Leads folks around the league to question whether the titans followed league rules properly when making these hires
the titans see those questions and decide to just fire Ran to avoid the scrutiny and first order of business when Brinker takes over is to fire Ran along with other execs with the Titans, including a few that have been there since 1997. Pure power play takeover
This is a plot of a Scorsese movie
Updated after realizing I was misunderstanding the comp pick rules and who benefits

If it wasn't for his wife we would still be in trouble.

Jon Robinson and Mike Vrabel should both still be in Nashville. Yes, they had a couple of subpar years, but I believe they could have righted the ship.
