I've been seeing this on and off for years and people seem to talk really highly of it. A lot of episodes. Anyone seen this through?

I'm watching it with my daughter and it's pretty cheesy. I am hoping she gets bored, there are so many episodes.

I watched the live action show and thought about watching the anime...until I saw the number of episodes I'd have to watch.

I started watching it a few weeks ago after watching the live action. I have am just starting Thriller Bark.

I saw where Netflix is going to redo the animated series. There is a lot that can be condensed and a lot that can be completely cut.

I would recommend using a guide like this to help as it labels the filler.

All One Piece Arcs in order- Crunchyroll

Never heard of One Piece before the live action show, despite the anime being 20 yrs old.

Really enjoyed the live action after seeing the trailer and thinking this was going to be hot trash. (Same producers of Beebop Cowboy did OP, after all. The difference? They stuck closer to the source material for the latter.)

Became a big fan, started in on the anime. After 40 or so eps, I started to get bogged down with the silliness. Still am watching, but at a far slower pace. Really good story telling, between the goofy episodes.

One Pace

quote:

One Pace is a fan project that recuts the One Piece anime in an endeavor to bring it more in line with the pacing of the original manga by Eiichiro Oda. The team accomplishes this by removing filler scenes not present in the source material.

Highly recommend this.

I watch the anime and read the manga. I love it. The manga has been on a run for the last year or so that is unbelievable, and the anime is about to start moving into that realm. It's definitely an investment with 1115+ episodes, but if you like anime, and great story telling, it's worth it.

There's a few ways around this.

One Pace is a fan project to condense the episodes down to only what is needed. OP doesn't have that many filler episodes compared to other anime, but it has a TON of of filler scenes.

The first 60 episodes or so can be condensed to just watching the east blue movie that's about 90 minutes. Same with the Skypiea arc (roughly 50 episodes). You'll get the import parts of those arcs.

While there are a lot of serious or emotional moments, the first 400 episodes or so are definitely a more "silly" than what it becomes. 400 episodes is a lot, I get it lol.
