You've got to be a little honest about the past. There wasn't a level playing field for a long time. Now there is. Marcus is the first who made it (potentially) and people will notice. He accepted that and moved on.

Since it was a fellow black man asking Freeman the question he had to kind of soften the hammer he was about to drop. If it had been a white journalist I think Freeman would have been more blunt.

There are 16 out of 134 black fbs coaches. Thats about 12%. That is a pretty close representation of the 13% of the population made up of black people
