1. Falling Down (1993)
2. Forrest Gump (1994)
3. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
4. Titanic (1997)
5. American History X (1998)
6. The Green Mile (1999)
7. American Beauty (1999)
8. Fight Club (1999)
9. The Matrix (1999)
10. Monster’s Ball (2001)
11. King Kong (2005)
12. Apocalypto (2006)
12. United 93 (2006)

There will never be another period in time where films will even come close to being as half as good as what was made in this 12 year period. All of these films have superb writing, acting, and ridiculously good musical scores. We were living in the golden age of Hollywood and didn’t even know it. The best part is that there are so many more drama/epic films that could be added to this list.

Come on. You seriously think all of those films are bad? What would you put on there?

Monster’s Ball is a great film. Have you even watched it? I bet you haven’t

Not really. Maybe you should watch it just once. It’s a really simple story with a deep message

Films from 1990-1992 were basically an extension of the 80s in terms of the type of movies that’s were made. The 80s was the absolute worst decade for films. Nothing but cheesy action films with over-the-top dialogue.

Braveheart was highly inaccurate. Schindler’s List was alright

Here are some films from the '70s

The Godfather Part II, Chinatown, The Conversation, Lenny, A Woman Under the Influence, Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Harry and Tonto, Young Frankenstein, Hearts and Minds, Phantom of the Paradise, Murder on the Orient Express, Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia, California Split, The Gambler, Parallax View, The Sugarland Express, Thieves Like Us, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three

Perhaps I should specify - these are the films from one year: 1974

I’ve seen all of those films. Yes, those 3 are good but should not even be close to being considered as the best of those years.

1. Falling Down (1993) - very good, probably more prevalent today than when it came out
2. Forrest Gump (1994) - very good, but the shine has worn off over the years
3. The Shawshank Redemption (1994) - elite
4. Titanic (1997) - very good, but the shine has worn off over the years
5. American History X (1998) - good
6. The Green Mile (1999) - meh
7. American Beauty (1999) - very good, but the shine has worn off over the years
8. Fight Club (1999) - elite
9. The Matrix (1999) - elite
10. Monster’s Ball (2001) - meh
11. King Kong (2005) - trash
12. Apocalypto (2006) - very very good
12. United 93 (2006) - never seent it

It's a good list overall, but it's not definitive enough to support your claim. And I don't feel like putting in the effort to see all of the movies that came out in that 14 year span, but I suspect that my list would only keep about half of yours. There are much better movies in that span than Monster's Ball, Amex, and King Kong.
