Pretty amazing to watch in real time. I know everyone on here says the NBA regular season is mostly worthless and uninteresting, but seeing living legends have nights like that is still pretty special to witness.

It's pretty wild with how much Lebron's name has dominated the NBA over the past two decades, I still think of Steph and KD as younger dudes because they were always tabbed as "next" after Lebron, yet they have a combined age of 72 now

Steph Curry, one of the greatest ever. Lebron is insane too. I wanted Steph to hit 10 in a row to break a record for most threes in a game without a miss (players have hit 10 in a row in a game, but missed a three in the game). If he can hit his first six against Memphis, he will have the longest streak of made threes without a miss.

LeBron goes 7/10 from 3 last night as well and scores 38.
The NBA needs these two more and ever....

What's amazing is the nba is so desperately looking for the next superstar group, but they can't stay relevant or push the fame.
Luka Giannis and joker giving 0 fricks about fame.
Tatum is the equivalent to Russell Wilson and his cheesy arse demeanor.
Trae is a farce
This was ant's league, but somehow it's not
Zion is a tub of butter
Ja isn't a role model
Sga and wemby are in small markets

Doncic whines too much
Joker is great but does not want to be the face of the league (best player in the league ATM)
Greek Freak is great but has been meh lately

I dont think small market matters anymore. Would anybody say Jalen Brunson is more popular than Ja Morant or Lamelo Ball ?
Wemby will be the next big star when the Spurs start becoming contenders and make deep playoff runs
SGA just isnt interesting enough to be a star.
Lebron and Kyrie were superstars in Cleveland.
Westbrook and KD were superstars in OKC.
Zion plays in New Orleans, his hype was off the charts Ja plays in Memphis, Lamelo plays in Charlotte
All 3 are in comparable small markets. SGA has no excuse

League is fricked when KD Curry and LeBron are gone.
All the young superstars are foreigners. Your best players are Jokic, Giannas, Doncic, Embiid, and SGA and they don’t care or carry the same marketability of others
League tried to push ANT last year but he’s really just a top 15 guy who talks a lot of shite.
Zion flopped and Ja couldn’t stay away from guns and being dumb.
League really needs a new guy to show up and be charismatic and elite ASAP

Problem is the league and TV keep pimping their aging stars and not highlighting emerging onss. OKC is a young team with great talent. So on Xmas day they didn’t showcase them deciding to go with aging ones. Missed opportunity to expose fans to new talent.
SGA is a great player and has so many moves driving the ball.

SGA is just amazing with his moves. Doesn’t whine after every play like Luka either.

Still won't win shite in the post season with that team
They are deep and play hard throughout the regular season, but will continue to get cooked come playoffs

Not the same team. Have IHart now. And Chet will be back in Feb. makes a big difference. They winning without their 3rd star. And IHart/Chet have yet to play together (IHart was hurt wrist to start year came back after Chet got hurt). They will go far with this roster.
Just won 3 in 4 nights, were down in all 3 games and won going away. Team never gives up.
Also, what do you mean continue? 2 years ago happy to make playoffs after rebuilding. 1 year ago made semi’s and lost to Luka after a good year. Brought in IHart who has more double/doubles in half a season than all season in NY.
Go ahead and sleep on them. The NBA front office has slept and is missing golden opportunity to showcase rising stars. They are pimping the old timers, which is a lost cause.

I think Wemby can be that. He’s charismatic and has GOAT talent potential.

He is on his last legs. But they will keep pushing him because he has fans who think he’s all that.

If tweet fails to load, click here. But they don’t mention this nugget
quote:
Jordan played 1,072 games in 15 years.. LeBron is 1,522 over 22 seasons. MJ is still the goat.
Nor do they show this stat:
What they need is him to retire.
Posted on 1/4/25 at 9:07 am to OU Guy
We’ll say what you want but what Lebron is doing at 40 is amazing.. I don’t really like the guy, but you got to give credit where it’s due.

He’s good, I don’t take that away. But they present things as if he’s the best ever and its tiring. Showcasing him on TV over rising stars is why NBA is down. Too many don’t Ike him because of his stances and actions over the years. And for him to push his son onto the team is just sickening. Imagine being the player who got left out because of nepotism. Thats one less roster spot.
He needs to retire and allow the league to move in to emerging stars and help them make a name. The NBA and TV are squeezing every dollar out of him they can at the expense of future dollars. It takes time to build up player names and they are failing at it. Thats my point. And their future TV viewers will continue to decrease because they push old timers like him over emerging stars.
