My heart sez Tigahs by a zillion, but my prediction is:

Baylor 41
LSU 24

Hope I am way wrong, but Robertson at QB is very solid. Bowl means more to Baylor. Finally, I can't imagine our offensive line being very good in their first game as a unit.

We have way more talent and our defense is basically in tact. Our OL couldn’t be much worse than it was at running football. Durham has a big day.

Game turns on performance of OL. Period

I'd like to see Hilton and Durham get the ball a lot as speed kills.

I agree. It's difficult to be optimistic about that.

I've seen the "bowl means more to Baylor" narrative floated around in multiple places. Can you, or anyone else, explain why?

The expectations are very different for these programs in terms of success level. When was the last time that Baylor won anything of note? 2021 Big XII title is as good as it gets. Before that it was 2014 Big XII.

All-time record 630–607–44 (.509)
Bowl record 14–12 (.538)
Conference titles 10: 1915, 1916, 1922, 1924, 1974, 1980, 1994, 2013, 2014, 2021

No natties.

Not that hard. Up to the A&M game, LSU had legitimate hopes to make the playoffs. The rest of the season has been a disappointment.

What's a more impressive statement?
-we beat Baylor
-we beat LSU

From a historical perspective of the programs, I understand your point. The issue I have with people saying the bowl means more to Baylor is that it discredits the guys that are going to be on the field for LSU. You can't tell me the game doesn't mean anything to seniors like Jones, Swinson, and Alexander that are choosing to play. Not to mention, I'm sure all of the younger guys getting an opportunity to play today that will be back next year are hoping to make some kind of an impression on people in this game.

If LSU does win it will be a good one for sure. Baylor has won 6 straight and highest scoring team in big 12 and only have 3 opt outs. The LSU line is my biggest concern. Having said that tigers 27-23

Which is why I think LSU has a lot to play for. They are not happy with how the season played out and want to show they are better than that. Most of the defense is back even though they could have opted out. That says a lot.

Kelly wants to end the season strong and some of the new players on offense are auditioning for starting spots.

Bumping my own post to eat crow.

I was really impressed with the makeshift line.
