I think with the increasing number of opt outs and portal outs, it really does not make sense to play these bowl games post season.

I would rather have these played in Week Zero of the next season with teams fully replenished and the season ready to start.

The games can count towards the previous seasons records or just be a practice game which does not count against anyone's eligibility or record.

Seniors who contributes to that season would be gone and not reap the rewards of their efforts.

While true, that’s only valid if they are going to the league. That’s a small percentage of seniors across the board. A lot of these young men will never play again.

Actually MOST don't. You just hear about the ones that do, so to the simple minded that gets turned into most.

The number of seniors who play in bowl games versus those who don't is probably 20:1 at least.

If you think opt-outs are bad now, imagine the opt-outs for a game that doesn't count in the standings.

And you think players won’t opt out of games that literally don’t count? Hahaha

Cam Ward opting out after a half was arse in my opinion. I assume he didn’t want to get hurt but what a let down to the fans and his team. He showed much more about himself in opting out and I bet any evaluation of him has to include his decision.

Why on Earth would a team want to risk injury right before the season for a game that doesn't count

Give me a break. There are a total of zero NFL teams that would pass on a player they feel would be a star simply because he didn't play the 2nd half of a bowl game.

You are way off. Malik did literally the exact same thing last year. So if you are shitting on Cam Ward, you should be shitting on Malik too. Yet another example of the hypocrisy of this board.

You’re comparing apples to oranges. Ward was a heisman candidate that lead the team nearly to playoffs. Nabers was a damn good wr but far easier to replace for three quarters.

Lol what does that have to do with anything? They both played in the 1st half of a meaningless bowl game in order to get a record then sat out of the 2nd half. It's literally the exact same. Are you saying that QB's can't opt out, but every other position can?

I'm honestly impressed with how some people can only get dumber with each passing day.

I’d say one position is more important than the other, yes. Not to mention Ward should be Miami’s leader.
