The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Tuco running through the cemetary, past grave after grave, with that glorious Morricone music soaring (the same music that's recently been sampled for a hip-hop song and used in a fricking commercial.)
i was gonna post the same scene. the song is "ecstasy of gold," and i thought it was nicely done in the nike ad.

Field of Dreams - "Dad would you like to have a catch?"

Agree with the Wild Things scene, that scene alone sparked the low budget sequels.

Pesci stabbing the guy with the inkpen in Casino.
The phone call from the Wolf with Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction.
Also the whole say "WHAT AGAIN" scene in Pulp Fiction.
Gladiator- Maximus to Commodus: “My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.”

That's the one.

I have mixed emotions about it. On the one hand, it's always wonderful to hear, in another, well, it's still a commercial and most will never know the source.

The Iron Giant flying to intercept the bomb, closing his eyes, and whispering, "Superman."

Jimmy Stewart confronting the soldier who accidentally killed his son in Shenandoah.

Christopher Reeve flying towards the camera for the first time.

Bill Murray cleaning golf balls in Caddyshack. (I laughed so hard in the theater, I fell out of the chair and was on one knee trying to catch my breath.)

The scene from Die Hard when McClane runs over the broken glass with no shoes was one that I always remembered as a kid. Also the scene when he ties the fire hose around his waste and jumps off the roof as it explodes was bad arse.

Rudy: when jon favreau shouts "I know him!!!!" after rudy makes the tackle.

the usual suspects: the ending

reservoir dogs: the entire torture scene of marvin nash by vic vega. also the breakfast scene including the scene with them walking together.

(this is kind of off the wall) but the scene where robert guiamle (sp?) chews out morgan freeman in lean on me.

shawshank: the brooks out on parolle scene contrasted with the red out on parolle scene also the tarring the roof scene.

glengary glen ross: alec baldwin's scene and just about every scene with jack lemon b/c he was f'n great in that movie. pacino too.

any given sunday: pacino's pregame speech

braveheart: the battle scenes.

dark night: pick a heath ledger scene.

forrest gump: when forrest talks to jenny's grave about their son. you have to be a robot to not feel that one.

clue: tim curry revealing what happened at the end.

actually i scene i find farely underrated is in the rock with the standoff btwn the marines and the seals. the "I CANNOT GIVE THAT ORDER!!" scene.

the breakfast club: the standoff btwn bender and the principal.

clerks: 37!!!!!!???????

swingers: the answering machine scene (you actually start to cringe for a fictional character)

true romance (one of my faves) the walken/hopper scene has been mentioned but i also like drexel scene with slater and oldman. and the entire ending.

boondock saints- smecker recreating the crime scenes especially "there was a fire fight!!"

chasing amy-when ben affleck confesses his love for joey lauren adams the first time.

rocky- any traning montage but especially III and IV.

LOVE this movie, but one scene that is just so bad that it is legendary is the smoking scene when Emilio dances around the library and then breaks the glass door with his scream.

So many great scenes have been mentioned, I agree with all of them:
Forrest Gump: I actually teared up at this scene and my wife flat out bawled. Scene where he first meets his son and he askes Jenny if he is like me or is he normal. Heartbreaking.
Jaws: Robert Shaw telling the story about the USS Indianappolis.
Seven: Final scene, I was so angry I was physically ill.
Shawshank: definately the Itallian opera scene.
American History X: curb stomp - shocked is not the word for what I felt.
Porky's: Shower scene - first time I ever saw tits and bush in a movie.
Nightmare on Elm Street (orig.) - Scene where Freddy is walking down the alley and his arms get real long and his claws are scraping the walls.
Schindler's List: little girl in the red dress, and Ralph Fiennes sniping people from his house.
