NFL scheduling department last spring when this schedule was made up.

I think if this becomes a trend and they aren’t able to resolve it through scheduling, the league is going to have to look at changing the playoff structure
They should just go back to 6 teams with 2 byes. Keeps things way more interesting through the full season

But a win gives them a shot at moving into the five seed and putting the Vikings in the spot to have to face the Lions in the division round instead of them. There is still a lot on the line here, more so for the Vikings but I'm sure the Packers would rather only have to face one divisional opponent in the playoffs and not two to get to the Super Bowl.
