It's a slow, laborious shite pile of a movie.

Did you like Eggers's other movies?

I’m not a fan of eggers movies. They’re well made, but they bore me, and are generally a chore to get through. However, my friend loved it and says it’s his favorite of his. So if you like eggers movies you’ll probably like this one.

I thought it was tremendous. Very similar to Bram Stokers Dracula which is one of my favorites

It knocked my socks off. It's a must see in the theater to get the full impact of the creepy cinematography. If you watch it undistracted you will thank yourself later.

Is a remake of the 1922 original, which itself was an unlicensed adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula

Ironically I was actually distracted at the theater. It wasn’t dark enough for me and I sat too close to the aisle so I could see the exit lights too. The sound was great but I could’ve had it louder

I have the same issue with the exit signs. Why can't they use a dimmer bulb? Do they think we can't see the sign and they have to make it as bright as possible? If it were me I'd turn off the overhead lamps as well. I thought that's what led lighting on the floor was for? I guess we all know the answer, but it still sucks.
