Depends on where you live, how much debt you have and if you have any common sense or not.

Do you think someone making only $70k can afford to pay rent or a mortgage and for daycare? And then also buy diapers, formula, etc?

You seem out of touch, friend.

And who care what random people tweet? Stop scrolling look for reasons to be outraged.

"Nobody can afford to live off of $70,000 a year in today's America".

Absurd. Leftist twitter is joyfully quote tweeting her for coming around to their side. 18+ /hr isn't a liveable wage in her opinion.

Some of those base salaries for Tesla do look low. Damn.

I too would like to live in 1950.

It’s always refreshing when someone who clearly isn’t raising kids tells people who are how inexpensive raising kids is.

While Loomer is certifiable, how far do you think $70-80K goes in Austin TX?

Hint-That is where the jobs posted are located.

But I bet Loomer has the latest $1,300 iPhone, a $1,500 iPad and flies in business class everywhere she goes while watching one of the 18 monthly apps she subscribes to each month

You'll make more as a new hire railroad conductor with zero college.

H1Bs increase the supply of workers which naturally drives wages down.

Wait, wasn’t she just having a nuclear meltdown yesterday about having her blue check mark taken away and as a result MAGA being silenced?

Is that already over and done with?

She’s not wrong. Back in the 70’s 80’s and 90’s engineers made really good money on par with the other professions. Oil companies, along with many others, decided to flood the market by lobbying the board examiners (PE question writers) to lower their difficulty.

Becoming a PE is easier than its ever been.

Probably because it’s not that difficult over that time period as it once was. A lot more things are computerized.

If it's not enough then I would think someone making 70k should hold off having kids until they are making what they think is enough

Personal responsibility and sound judgment and decisions are not a bad thing no matter how much you folks on the left think so

A local dairy is hiring line workers at $30/hour in rural, low cost WI.

They'll be living better, with no overtime, than the $76K engineer in expensive Austin.

Absolutely, unless one also has an addiction issue.

What are rent and daycare prices like where you think $70k is more than enough to raise a family?

Better downvote instead of answering. That way you can keep telling yourself you’re right

This shows you don't look at the big picture.
