She’s not wrong. Back in the 70’s 80’s and 90’s engineers made really good money on par with the other professions. Oil companies, along with many others, decided to flood the market by lobbying the board examiners (PE question writers) to lower their difficulty.

Probably because it’s not that difficult over that time period as it once was. A lot more things are computerized.
