For Those of You Having a Blue Christmas, you aren't alone

I've been through several, and this is stacking up to be another.
Don't feel alone with all the fake-happy on social media. Many people are going through some shite too, right there with you.
Best advice I can give after several Blue Christmas's is what Kevin Nealan says in Happy Gilmore, "Harness Good, Block Bad" and get through the next few days.
Don't let outer forces make you have to feel some kind of way.
Merry Christmas.

God bless you and Merry Christmas. I’m struggling a bit tonight, but I know it will get better.

I'm alone tonight. Usually I travel over the holiday, but I'm working instead. The best advice I can give is to not drink, think about your blessings and look ahead.

Ive hated the holidays for probably close to 20 years now so
it's just ten days I got to get through

Sorry to hear that anyone is having a struggle this time of year.
Know that there’s help available out there. And more importantly, there’s hope out there.
And as a wise man once said “Remember, Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.”

I'm not alone when I'm alone?

Agree OP.
Had a family member diagnosed with rectal cancer last month, and not much time left.
Difficult to stop thinking about it, but just been talking to people, enjoying family, exercising and doing good deeds as I can.

I spent three straight Christmas's in the ER - my Mom, me, my Mom respectively were the patients. Almost anything is an upgrade after that.
Having said that, this one is kinda sucky - wife works in emergency medical and is having to work late shifts for three consecutive days, kids are all growed up and doing their things - son working on his electronics hobby and daughter daydreaming about her almost-fiancee who arrives in two days.

Some may laugh, but I’ve found more words of encouragement and support from people on here than I have received from my own siblings.

Christmas is about the Lord. He is with us every day throughout the year. The holidays are no different. I'm not an active church goer but I learned from my parents that what you do for your fellow man everyday in life and your personal relationship eith God will sustain you

I've worked a lot of jobs where holidays didn't matter, so I couldn't travel to be with family. It doesn't bother me to spend a holiday alone.
Tomorrow, I'm going to have a big porterhouse and enjoy the day.

We are having a good Christmas Eve but last night on the 2 hour drive back from my FiLs Christmas get-together my 16 going on 35yo daughter decided to pick a fight with my wife because she had a couple glasses of wine. I lost it because she did this while we were trapped in a car and made my 10yo son cry. I was about to pull over and toss her out.
The point is we pick ourselves up and we move forward full in the confidence that all families struggle.
Merry Christmas everyone.

I am alone, but never lonely. My dog and my faith are plenty.
Life is amazing, and always puts new, fun, unexpected experiences in front of you if you are open to them.
Merry Christmas to all, have fun and be safe out there!

My mother's first day in the nursing home was last Christmase eve. This Christmas she's no longer with us. My Christmas spirit is absent this year and I'm doubtful whether I'll ever have it again.

Yep, SIL is off/out of meds.
Paranoid, failed relationships,
missing out on life.
I think that I can fix her, have wanted to for years but, don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze.

Same here but with BIL. Maybe the good old days where someone could be committed by a court order should be brought back.
