Where is the best place to get one in Baton Rouge or surrounding area? I hear Ralphs Super Market in Gonzales has really good ones, anyone ever had one?

Had a "French" King Cake today - not as good as the "normal" kind, IMO.

Yes, their king cake is good and they now have a store in BR on the corner of Jones Creek and Tiger Bend.

Head over to Carnival Mart on Airline across from Cortana. You can get a New Orleans king cake there. Literally.

I'll tell you but you have to keep it a secret, don't tell anyone or there will be a run and I won't get mine. Cal's Bakery on Burnside in Gonzales is in the clubhouse with a 4 stroke lead.

I don't believe in using the word "best", because individual tastes vary, but it is my favorite, even through it involves a 25 minute ride each way.

If they are selling the authentic Randazzos's King cake this year like they did last year this is hands down the best. They have them shipped in from the best king cake maker in the New Orleans area.

Yes they are. I chatted with the lady in there for a few minutes when I went, she's very nice. They get fresh shipments throughout the week.

Travel to Donaldsonville and go to Chef's fried Chicken (or call) and place an order. Best King cakes in the state. The have cream cheese with anything you can think of. They are not the crusty kind of king cake. The are soft and have a really good dough.

The place is nothing to write home about but it is owned by Bernardo's catering service. The Mistretta family has been cooking for many many years.
