Pre rut/rut bow hunt locations?

Have new property we are hunting this year, about 150 acres. Have 3 food plots , most of the property was cut about 5 years ago so tons of about 4 foot tall brush/briars and a few smaller creek areas with mature trees.
Rut should start up around the first of the year, trying to get a strategy together. Likely will be using saddle with my bow 99% of the time where I can find trees big enough.
What should I be looking for when I’m setting up for the rut? This is around Poplarville, Ms

Wherever you’ve seen the most does. Humans and animals are more alike than u think. Works for me.

Set up on the creek near well worn deer trails. He’s going to travel them looking for a doe in the cutover.

To be honest, nothing you posted so far sounds like a good archery rut setup. Other than the plots, what’s funneling movement to one location?
Try to find where three types of habitat meet. If that doesn’t exist on this property, look for the edge of habitat. Unfortunately, this will probably be the property line and better setups might be on the neighbors.
Worst case scenario, set up a tent blind on a plot and catch them coming into it.

One of the food plots is right on the edge of some good timber, based on what yall are saying that may be the best bet. There is also a good creek bed that I’ve seen a good buck travel before, leads to a different food plot.

Everything looks different when you’re 15-20ft up. If you can find some open areas where’s there’s creek endings, elevation change, or transition between trees/bedding/food.

Find what they are feeding on and where they are bedding, try to get on the edge of the bedding and get in early.
They will leave food at the crack of dawn.
We have green fields and do better hunting 150 yards back in the woods off the fields than on the edge of them.

One strategy that works well for me is to find heavy trails that lead from one food plot to another. Bucks will travel plot to plot in search of receptive does.
