What’s your “go to” deer camp meal?

I’m talking about the meal you make when you’re trying to stay inside to minimize scent and sounds.

Uh, there’s no such thing as no scent and sound while cooking at the camp.

I like to grill steak cause it’s quick. Another thing is smothered potatoes and smoked sausage.

If I'm cooking at the camp, I get meatloaf or stuffed ribeyes from Benoits in Addis and make rice and gravy. Also make a sous vide back strap with bordelais and shrooms.

If I'm in the stand, boudin links n boiled eggs.

Are you looking for take and bake dishes you can just toss in the oven?

If you’re talking about cooking at the camp I only cook outside. What I cook depends on the weather for the most part.

Honestly not really sure what you’re asking, though.

I either grill pork chops, backstrap, or smoked sausage. Sometimes it's just ham sandwiches. Can't do anything about scent and sound because I have to cook outside because I only have an old truck camper to sleep in.

Yeah, I'm poor.

Are you cooking in your box stand or something? This is honestly nothing I've ever worried about

Shite, that's high living if it doesn't have any leaks.

I wouldn't worry about it. If they can smell food they can smell you as well. There is no hiding it.

I use the Uncle Larry's stew in a few or jarred gumbo quite a bit at camp. It's quick and pretty good for what it is. Also Tony's boxed dirty rice mix is pretty good with some ground deer meat.

No leaks and it's actually really cozy in there. Hell, I sleep better in there than I do at home.

Best camp meal is something in a crockpot so you can make an evening hunt and it’s ready to eat when you get back
