Seriously one of my favorite albums ever. Discovered him back in the early 2000s. Glad he has kept up his craft.

Mescalito and Road House were both fantastic albums. From there it fell off pretty quick, but those two are great.

It holds a special place for me as well. Lots of road trips jamming that one. I wore it out like I did the Mofro “Lochloosa” album.

Indeed. Wrote a few more decent songs and puts on a very good live show but his peak is a big gap from his normal. Great album.

Funny you say that, as I remember one of his early Youtube videos from Dublin and me thinking “I wonder if his music resonates with Irish Euro folk?!” Then I remembered most of his music used to be about drinking ha.

I actually saw Ryan and the Dead Horses in Italy in about 2008. My family from Houston were the only people in the crowd who know their music but the crowd lovvved it.
