'Peg' guitar solo

I never thought it was very good.

There's a lot going on with this solo. Keep in mind that Jay Grayson essentially winged it after hearing the song (as was custom with guitar solos for Steely Dan, where they would have a parade of top session guys get one or 2 shots at a solo and then were dismissed).

It's interesting in a lot of ways, but most notably is the almost slack-key bends and slides that make up a good bit of the solo. For example, the first bend is a double bend that unbends, bends back again, slides up from the 8-7 to 12-12 (meaning that one finger slides 5 positions while one finger slides 4), then one finger in that 12 position bends 3/4 of a note.

While it's a hard solo to play, it nails the swing like feel of the song itself that makes it interesting. The slack key phrasing probably stood out amongst what were probably straightforward jazzier type solos that they had to choose from.

You misspelled "Reelin in the Years".

Solo from 'Do It Again' is much better.

Was one of the more advanced songs to play on Guitar Hero.

It's the epitome of the pretentiousness and perceived self-importance of Becker and Fagen.

That's rather odd, considering in most interviews I've seen him do he just oozes smarmy douchebag vibes. I've never seen him be self-deprecating or even remotely humorous.
