Committee will adjust their early rankings next year

I think you’ll see the committee adjust their early rankings prior to conference title games next year based on SOS. They’re learning with this first year and should adjust some philosophies. If they did this again, I think SMU would be below a number of SEC teams which makes it easier to keep a conference championship loser out of the playoffs. They put themselves in a corner due to where SMU was ranked prior to ACC championship game.

Can you imagine if we found out the committee plotted where to place LSU so they could reasonably leave them out of the playoff the following week?

Shouldn't Clemson be 11 and SMU 12 tho..

No, the dumbass stipulations this year has the weakest conference champion automatically going in at #12.

That’s not the rule though. The rule is the weakest conference champions is seeded wherever they are. If they are lower than 12 then they are seeded as 12. If you look at the rankings, they ranked Clemson 16, but since they were conference champ they were placed in the 12 slot
