Tacoma trd offroad package is a good buy.
I dont know why you would buy another model. There's still 2023 models that are new floating around. If you want the v6

I just bought a Colorado. I didn’t really want a truck, but I need one right now. It’s really fun to drive. I wind the frick out of that 4 cylinder with the manual transmission.

This is what I drive. I love it for the most part. I miss having a full sized truck maybe 2-3 times a year when I need to load something with any size into the bed but the majority of the time it fits my needs just fine.
Bonus is with a set of mud tires it can go anywhere on our hunting lease that the side by side can go and it leaves less of a rut.

I have a TRD Tacoma (2020) and really enjoy it. Best vehicle I’ve owned.

This is about what I'd expect if I downsize next time. A mid sized truck would fit 95% of my needs now that the kids are pretty much all grown.

I didn’t even get a 4 door for that reason…the extended can is more than enough storage space. We take the wife’s (no pics you pervs) SUV when we go anywhere together.

Had a guy pick me up in the little Chevy ZR2 to look at some property. We rode about 20 mins there and cruzed all around our SxS roads. It rode well on the hwy and creep around like a SxS off road.

Tacoma or frontier if you are keeping it more than 3 years.

I passed a T-100 the other day. I really miss that size truck. Tacomas just look too small, although a buddy just got one for his son and he said he loves driving it.
