Going in Feb 2025. Anyone gone before and have any comments/recommendations? All of the ship sponsored excursions are filled up. The wife (no pics) has us signed up with a couple of local outfits

Even the free excursions are booked up?

I thought Viking guaranteed one free excursion per port to all passengers.

Look at the shore excursions available for each day. One will be marked “included “. That one should not be filled up.

I wasn’t clear above. The free ones are not filled up. It’s the ones that you pay for.

Don’t assume that the free ones are bad. Most of them are very good. That is one thing Viking prides themselves on.

We took the Bordeaux river cruise a few months ago and were happy with the excursions, including the free ones.

Our good friends took this cruise last year. They enjoyed it, but the Northern Lights didn't cooperate. The tour guide told them to take pictures anyway, the lights would show better in the photograph.

Will you be in the North Sea? We did Norway on a cruise last August and the trip from Norway to Copenhagen on the North Sea was rough. Bring your dramamine.

Start in Bergen and go up the coast above the arctic circle. Come back down the coast and then go to Amsterdam for a day and end in London.. 12 days on the boat. I’m anticipating some motion at some point.

We done two different Viking river cruises / we have taken them in November or December just to save about 30% of the cost

Just got off a Viking River Cruise and I will say, I am investing some money into the company. A truly world-class company that goes above and beyond for their guests.
