Just rewatched Peaky Blinders, top to bottom….

The last season didn’t even resemble the show that started. It got so dark and aimless that I, much like the first watch, hate watched the last 2 season. The one shining star was Murphy’s acting.

Yeah I never got around to watching the last two seasons. Agree on Murphy's acting he's the whole reason I started watching it after having seen him put out an excellent performance in The Wind that Shakes the Barley.

It kind of fell off after the Italian mob season. Hopefully the movie delivers

Y'all are missing out. Sucked to lose Pol, but the end was really well written and acted.

It suffered losing Helen McCrory and I think that caused a big shift in the storyline as a result too.
I enjoyed the last two seasons though. Folks have to evolve.

I'll have to watch it soon. It wasn't really a conscious decision not to watch it I just kind of forgot about it.

Just finished it recently. It goes off the rails some in the final season but is still well worth the watch.

Never could get into it. After watching the sopranos and breaking bad and other criminal shows I just found peaky blinders boring.

Late to the game, but we just finished binge watching this over the past week or so. I thought it was one of the best series I'd ever watched.
[I GUESS "SPOILER ALERT" IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT!]
Season 6 Episode 6: Lock and Key
I guess on the surface, the Season Finale was totally unexpected. Seeing all the traitors tripped up and getting theirs was very satisfying.
The introduction of Duke was unexpectedly great.
The scene with Arthur and Jeremiah walking through the gas is legendary to off the IRA Lady. I loved the callout to Passchendaele. Glad she got what she deserved with that smirk.
Johnny Dogs, loyal to the end, saves Tommy's arse.
He should have shot that doctor through the head though. Set up for the supposedly eventual movie?
Leaves many unanswered questions though. Who tipped off Tommy about Billy? They knew before then. That’s why they were speaking in Romani. The whole deal at the pub was to set up the informant.
You could argue that had Finn kept his mouth shut around Billy (as he was warned to), then Mosley would be dead and Polly & Aberama would still be alive. Seems like a reasonable consequence for him to me. Anyone else would have been killed.

Hard disagree.
I still love the show but the ending might have been worse than the Game of Thrones ending. I would say it probably wasn't given that it didn't make everything before it pointless but it was laughably bad.
I am strictly talking about the finale though, not the final season. The season itself was fine, and I thoroughly enjoyed the 2nd to last season (I think that was the season with Adrian Brody right?), but the series finale was just incredibly bad.
I'm glad they are doing the movie so it can hopefully make up for the disaster ending.

I loved the ending. Top 5 series all time for me

Probably the best show I have ever seen, after BB

Summary of seasons ranked...
"Peaky Blinders" is a masterpiece in the world of TV dramas, with each season bringing its own flair. Here's a subjective ranking based on critical reception and audience favorites:
Season 4: Widely regarded as the best. It features some of the most intense storylines, high-stakes drama, and the introduction of memorable characters like Luca Changretta. The Shelby family faces challenges that test their loyalty and resilience.
Season 2: This season ramps up the action and intrigue, showing the Shelby family expanding their empire. The introduction of Alfie Solomons (Tom Hardy) adds a compelling dynamic.
Season 1: The one that started it all, setting the tone and introducing us to the gritty world of post-WWI Birmingham. Its slower pace compared to later seasons is still loved for establishing the characters we root for.
Season 5: The most polarizing season, with darker tones and a focus on political machinations. While some fans appreciated the thematic shift, others felt it lacked the punch of earlier seasons.
Season 3: While still strong, this season is often overshadowed by the more dynamic ones. However, it contains significant emotional moments for the Shelby family.
Season 6: As the finale, this season had high expectations. While it delivered closure, some fans felt it lacked the intensity of previous seasons.
Good article on rankings
