yeah, but did you care about the outcome of the other 2 fights with Frazier or the rest for that matteer, doesn't matter that people hated him and he had a lot that hated him back then, it only added fuel to his fire.

My dad, uncles, and grandparents all think the same thing. I've never asked why tho. I don't know much about Ali and I've never understood why he's treated like a god. The Ali I've always known has had the shakes from being hit in noggin one too many times. heh

i have said Ali is a piece of shite. It goes beyond racist, he's just a selfish arse. they way he treated Frazier was a joke. The inside the lines story about the Frazier/Ali rivalry really made me despise Ali more than i already did.

So would it be more fair if EVERY coach that would like to be interviewed MUST be interviewed, regardless of their resume? I do not think a person's race should be considered, period. If a black coach is passed over because he is black, then of course it is racism at it's worst and I disagree completely. I am just saying I don't believe forcing the opposite is the right answer.

I will definitely take your advice, although I may not get back to you on it. I don't want to assume I know everything. Apparently I need to do some more research on MLK and shouldn't have made that statement.

It really irks me that Frazier gave Ali money when ALi was banned from boxing, helped him survive, then lobbied to get him unbanned....and Ali thanks Frazier by calling him an Uncle Tom, a gorilla, then turning his back on Frazier when Smokin' Joe was down on his luck. He's a piece of shite.

don't agree, Frazier didn't understand the Ali sellin job of luring people in for huge boxing draws, like I've said earlier he was a showman, that's all that was about, Frazier took it the wrong way just like you.
besides, he was grateful that Frazier helped him out when he was banned, he said that, he repaid him not once, but twice with those other big fights.

yeah, Elvis and Ali are nothing alike.
Even in the reverence of Elvis he is still viewed as nothing more than a great entertainer/singer and a pop culture icon.....not some some saint-like, leader of moral causes that ALi is portrayed to be.

that's horseshite. Frazier won the first fight. Ali wasn't being generous to give Frazier fight #2, it was happening whether Ali wanted to or not. The 3rd fight, while Frazier was broken down and nearly blind in one eye still had a ton of public demand as the score was 1-1. None of the fights were total charity cases by Ali, at all.
Selling a fight is one thing, i get that. But if Frazier had dared call Ali the same shite that Ali was calling was frazier can you imagine the outcry? You can sell a fight without calling a black guy an Uncle Tom and a Gorilla, without stalking Frazier's hotel, etc.

It'd be a long interview process to do that. Do you think it's that much trouble to interview one minority coach?

And most of the college and NFL head coaching positions have gone to white folk. Obviously, if blacks had their fair share of coaches considered and hired, these hiring practices that are talked about wouldn't be an issue. To a lot of folk, it's an issue.

Are you saying that is not occurring? It may not always be intentional or conscious, but something is wrong when a 33 year old coach like Lane Kiffin is passed over for a coordinator like Charlie Strong.

WEll, if you don't force it, nothing will really change for minority coaches. College football has a history of not hiring non-white people. Obviously, if it needs to be forced, then there is a problem.

Most people who are miseducated only know MLK by his "I Have A Dream" speech and only know the parts where he talks about judging people by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
