Good bye and good riddance to bad rubbish.

Was talking about this with Edmonton baw down here at our local office a few weeks ago.
We said NY and New England to Canada.
We get Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

So Miami would become the new “Wall Street.”

I love when leftists say this nonsense.
I almost wish one state would do this just to show how stupid it is.
You secede, immediately all your US government benefits go away. You forfeit all SS you pain into.
Your US health insurance goes bye bye and you are subject to Canadas broken system of delays and inefficiencies.
All the colleges and universities that get money from the US no longer get a penny.
The list goes on and on.
Then there is the issue of the massive amount of citizens and business that would immediately leave those states because they don’t want to be Canadian.
It’s laughable that anyone would even consider this.

That's already happening.
Miami, and to a lessor extent Dallas.
Just a matter of how long.

I’m ok with this
It should be within every states right to leave the union if the people there feel it isn’t being represented by the federal govt.
It’s redundant that states can be added to the union but there’s no way for states to peacefully leave it if they think they can do better on their own

Most of New York State votes red. It's NYC, Rochester and Albany that forces Dem policies on everyone else. Kinda like Baton Rouge and New Orleans do to Louisiana.

I don’t disagree. There should be a peaceful way to leave the union.
Bit those states also have to suffer the realities and consequences of doing so.
You leave then a year or 2 later when you are broke, have no federal government assistance, business and citizens have fled back to the “US”, you don’t get to coming begging for us to take you back in like nothing happened.
Not saying there shouldn’t be an avenue for return, but can’t have states throwing temper tantrums and leaving every time an election doesn’t go their way.

I was about to say
Almost all of the state that is close to Canada is red
If anything it needs to be a coastal country of like 20 miles inland from DC all the way to Boston
That would solve all the problems

This could serve as a microcosm of the entire nation. Other than a few scattered regions in the Deep South, Midwest & West, large swaths of red surround Deep Blue megalopolises:
