I'm extending a work trip and will be spending a weekend in Dubai. Any recommendations on hotels, things to do, restaurants etc?

don’t overthink this, that is a city where you don’t want to spend too much time inside your hotel room

Yes, it can be fun to take pictures of all the luxury and post them on social media and send them to your friends, but there is so much cool shite to see and do outside of your hotel, keep it simple and spend your money on all the awesome things NOT hotel

This is exactly what I'm looking for. What are the cool things to do and see? Where would you stay that is in close proximity to these attractions.

Essentially if you had 48 hours what would you do, stay, and eat?

Day 1

Morning: Visit the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. You can take in the views from the observation deck or dine at one of the restaurants in the building.

Afternoon: Explore the Dubai Mall, the largest shopping mall in the world. You can find everything from designer clothes to electronics to souvenirs.

Evening: Have dinner at Social House, a laid-back restaurant with a terrace and views of the Dubai Fountain

Day 2

Dubai Museum, Dubai Gold Souk, The MAINE Land Brasserie, Business Bay Dubai

Morning: Visit the Dubai Museum, which is located in the Al Fahidi Fort, the oldest existing building in Dubai.

Afternoon: Go to the Dubai Gold Souk, a traditional market with over 380 retailers, most of whom are jewelry traders.

Evening: Dine at The MAINE Land Brasserie, Business Bay Dubai, which serves steaks, oysters, and seafood

Stay on the palm. Or the marina area. Lots of walking. And restaurants and views around marina area.

Thanks this is exactly what I was looking for. My initial internet search was steering towards a bunch of booze cruises which in my situation wouldn't be my cup of tea. I appreciate your help.

Is the public Mosque worth visiting?

I was there several years ago and stayed at the Park Hyatt which was very nice. It was a business trip so I have no idea about the cost of the room but it was one of the best rooms I've ever had. There was also a great looking golf course on the hotel property.

Drive to Abu Dhabi. Beautiful mosque just outside the city. See the Louvre annex. The falcon rescue is cool.Abrahamic house (mosque, synagogue, Catholic Church all connected with a central community center) Also, dune bashing in area is pretty fun.
