I have a dual handle tub faucet that was slightly dripping and after replacing the cartridges, o rings and springs/casings, it is dripping even more.
I would greatly appreciate the expertise of the O-T to tell me what I did wrong. Thanks

Did you also replace the valve seats? If not, that is likely where the leak is still happening. The seats are the first thing that screws into the stem housing and the stem closes down to it to completely shut off the water.

Yes. Replaced the valve seats which go into the cartridges.

probably chinese junk parts that don't quite match up with the originals.

See if you can shut the hot water off at the water heater and atleast see which side is leaking. Carefully compare the componets of the side that isn't leaking to the side that is. Might be both sides though. If really old, you may need to start accepting that a new facet altogether is the only permanent solution.

This will fix it. Takes a big arse Allen wrench but the exact tool is the same 5”-6” each side to allow better leverage to loosen/tighten the seat.

Once you have everything off, stick the Allen wrench in and turn counter clockwise, if I remember correctly.

Should come right out after a few turns.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
As a last ditch effort, I tightened down the ring nut as tight as I could get it and the drip stopped.
I thought I had it tight enough but apparently it needed to be really tight.

Valve seats. I fixed that for a couple of folks this summer.
