Shea Dixon on the Situation

Here are some initial things to pass along after a number of calls and texts over the past couple hours.
*** Bryce Underwood's family had attorneys look over LSU's side of the agreement on Sunday, sent it back and the adjustments needed were made by the LSU side, multiple sources confirmed tonight, including two not connected to LSU football. The same sources outside the program tell me the Underwood's then went over Michigan's agreement sent to them, whatever revisions needed to be made were handled, sent it back to Michigan this afternoon and shortly after, Underwood announced his flip to Michigan. LSU was not told ahead of time, with word coming in to the staff from a member of the Underwood camp moments after the news went public, multiple sources tell me.
*** I am not privy to the NIL offerings from each side, but that will obviously come out in time. I was told by multiple sources who would have knowledge of the NIL packages that it was north of $10 million from Michigan, and ESPN 104.5's Matt Moscona - who I trust when it comes to NIL-related knowledge - said "Michigan got to $12 million". Whatever the final number and incentives were, it was clearly enough to sway the Underwood camp after being committed for more than 300+ days and going on record multiple times about being solid to LSU, which was certainly the case behind the scenes even as recently as today when Bryce and the Underwood family talked with multiple staff members prior to news breaking, multiple sources tell me.
*** You've seen some LSU commits already taking to social media with reactions - all of them being positive in regards to sticking with the Tigers with Signing Day 14 days away. I'm told by one commitment, and confirmed through another source, that the "group chat" with the commits has already talked about the news and shared the sentiments of being locked in, which includes the other 5-stars. The lone guy connected to Underwood in any way is Derek Meadows, who we already had on "Flip Watch" given he's a Michigan native, hasn't visited LSU since he committed in July, and just took game visits to Michigan and Notre Dame. We've put our On3 RPM picks in for him to end up at Michigan.
*** It's absolutely key that LSU holds on to the rest of this class, and the pressure is on. After speaking with sources, there's no doubt the staff is VERY aware of that. There won't be any sleep for the coaches and recruiting staff tonight as they continue to work the phone lines and double down to lock guys in before December 4th.
*** With Underwood out, and 14 days until prospects sign, QB dominos have fallen. Sure, you can try for a flip. But the staff knew Underwood would be an early impact type even if he didn't start Game 1. I'm told my two trusted sources to expect LSU - barring a shift - to go after a transfer portal QB in the coming weeks.
More to come, but wanted to pass along some stuff I had gathered so far.

TLDR: LSU went cheap again

Shea expects LSU to go after a portal QB. Newsworthy.

Money + not having to play for BK after watching these past 3 weeks. Seems like the kid had a very easy decision to make
Posted on 11/21/24 at 7:21 pm to DalenSA
Couldn’t even call himself and tell BK. What a turd.

Thank you for the comforting words

This whole recruiting business is a fricking scam. I understand he has to make a living off of bullshite but how anyone still believes these so called “insiders” is beyond me. Stop giving these fools clicks. They don’t know shite.

Shocker. Shea and the LSU staff were the last to know something was amiss on a recruitment.

Nope and he used Mascona as a source. Mascona is on his show tonight using Shea as a source. Neither know anything.

I give this kid and his family credit for doing what anyone with decent sense would do in that situation.

I like how they sent word to these clowns after it was announced publicly.
That's what LSU football is now. A bunch of clowns.
