As a diehard LSU football and LSU sports fan, my fanhood has fanned out upon this news of 10 million to flip a star player we were all excited about.

Life is so expensive for the common folk, the world has real problems...sports are a distraction...now that distraction is becoming annoying and expensive. Don't need that in my life

10 million for a high school kid is money 99.9% of the world (8 billion people) will never earn in a life time of working

Fire Kelly, I don't care, not my problem...

whoever has allowed the game we love to stoop to this level of corruption and greed needs to rresign.

You are so right ,this NIL and transfer portal is destroying college football
and eventually all sports. Everybody wants to fire coaches when success
is going to be 1 year to the next very inconsistent for all teams.Fan bases
every season will be calling for their coaches to be canned because of the
chaos NIL and transfer portal has created.Every coach needs to figure out
how to deal with all the problems that come with these changes.

Yep dead and deader . . Never will be the same unless like coach Saban said they put some restrictions on the money . Not sure they can do this now as the cat is out of the bag I have had season tickets since 1975 but I will pass to my kids or just sell to the highest bidder . Game has gone to a POS.

I agree but the problem is, it isn’t just one rule or one person who instigated this wholesale change to college football. It’s just the culture of society today. Money money money…. With fame and attention a close second.. the toothpaste is out the tube, and it ain’t going back.

The only time this will become palatable again is when/if LSU starts coming out on top of these bidding wars.

College football is over

Feeling a little sick of it as well. It's certainly taking a backseat in my life.

Said something similar earlier to my friends. Been going to games since I was 3. Dad has had season tickets for over 50 years. CFB was the best sport in the world to me. I don’t recognize it anymore.

In the pre-NIL era, it was all about playing for the front of the jersey. Now they play for the name on the back of the jersey. It’s over. Division 1 FBS football has basically become a semi-pro division of the NFL.

Yeah it’s sad. Our society worships mammon now. It’s just bleeding its way into college football.

I’m still a fan of LSU.

I still think there’s no realistic way to fire Kelly this year.

I want him to succeed.

I want to beat these teams with lesser-recruited quarterbacks.

Geaux Tigers.

Hard to argue the corruption angle, but greed is certainly prevalent.

Honestly, corruption was the norm back before NIL by the blue-bloods in the sport; LSU, Bama, UGA, Ohios State, Okie, TX, aTm, USC, Penn State, FL, shall I continue?

Corruption yes…but not paying multimillions for players.
