I'm getting more into edc stuff not just work/duty related

What I have currently
Glock 48 with holosun507k, running PSA micro dagger mag to upgrade capacity to 15+1
Olight ark field ultra
Microtech ultra tech or Benchmade auto Stryker

I'm going to swap out knives for cheaper options so that I won't mess up my knives that are mainly duty use.

Looking at civivi yonder, kizer bulldog, I might spring for a syderco para 2 but again it's a expensive knife and I need something I won't care at all to beat up.

Anything as far as little gadget or like tool things that you have found to be extremely useful?

Gerber makes a box cutter with a couple of other features. I probably use it the most. More than a knife tbh

Sanrenmu knives at Field Supply .com are great to order.

Off bought 20 of them at $7 and will hand out as gifts.

Keeping three.

Benchmade Crooked River. It’s overkill for EDC, but dang it’s a great knife.

Also have a small Phillips and flathead screwdriver on my keychain. Probably the most used small gimmicky Christmas gift I’ve ever received.

Interesting listening to the Shawn Ryan show and a ton of those ex special forces guys carry backpacks almost everywhere they can. Just easier to carry extra ammo and a full size gun, but mostly they all carry fairly robust med kits. Some of them are even carrying sbr’s. Many also carry a fixed blade knife, assuming it’s just better as a fighting knife.

I just carry a folding knife and a gun. Both vary by the day and weather.

I don’t quite know why anyone thinks a knife is overkill or too much for edc? What are you using a knife for if not every day things like opening boxes and packages? I’m not whittling by the campfire, ha.

Yeah, I love the youtube guys selling ankle med kits. I keep one in my truck and when I started carrying daily, I included some additional stuff like tourniquet and chest seal (granted I still need to take a stop the bleed course). But I can't see carrying that stuff with me on my person all the time.

I never said back pack med kit. I said a backpack with edc items, one of which was a med kit. You can’t carry basic things like a tourniquet and chest bandage in your pocket.

They were mostly guys suggesting it was in their laptop type of bag, just that where ever they went they had their bag as an extension of their clothing so they could carry more.

It really all just depends on your job. If you are in something like outside sales which most of these retired special forces guys are, then a back pack is fairly easy.

I carry a Benchmade 490 and a Victorinox Super Tinker, a Microstream, Glock 19 usually along with a Bic lighter. I've got a waterproof pill carrier with some oiled cotton and a micro sd card with some pertinent information.

Some Ben's for company.

Most important is my AirPods.
