Spin off: Recommend a good stereo receiver for me for around $400-$500

Apparently mine doesn't have what I need (HDMI
) so I'll just buy a new one.
I will have two stereo speakers connected to it, TV, and record player. We also use the bluetooth a lot. Really don't need a ton of bells and whistles, but would prioritize reliability and ease of use (wife uses and is tech-retarded).

OP this is the best advice you are going to get especially for that price range. Onkyo used to be good, but they have had issues the last few years. Their new stuff is supposed to be better, but i don't know anyone that has one.
Also, wait about a week or 2 when the Black Friday sales start. You can probably get something a little cheaper.

Yes, it will do what you need.

If you do find a model you like (Denon, Yamaha, etc.), check accessories4less.com to see if you can get a refurbished one at a much lower price.

Direct refurbs from the manufacturer is another cheap option.
Denon HEOS app works really well so that gets the nod over a Yamaha.

Yamaha. Even their cheap stuff is still good.
I’d avoid buying at Costco. They seem like a dumping ground for iffy electronics.

Make sure it has a phono input - otherwise you'll need a separate phono pre-amp for your turntable. (not outrageously expensive, but more hassle)

the costco versions from Yamaha and Denon are actually better than what you get from similar models elsewhere. They are usually Costco exclusive models that have some extra features that you can't get on similar priced models elsewhere and they have a better warranty.

Find a vintage Marantz . Stereos were better years ago when the speakers like furniture.

I had an Integra for many years that worked fine but lacked some of the modern features. Read several reviews that liked the Onkyo - TX-NR6100, so I got one a few months ago from Amazon for $499.
I run my Roku and Firestick streaming devices through it to the TV and have 5.1 surround going. I've been very pleased with it so far. Easy to stream XM or Spotify from my phone through it, pretty straightforward controls, etc.

Are you trying to let the receiver handle your HDMI switching? I let my tv do that and just run an optical cable to the receiver.

The Costco Denon OP posted in this thread is just last year’s model (AVR-X1700H). That said, as far as I’m aware there aren’t many differences between the AVR-X1700H and the AVR-X1800H (current model). If I were in the market for a 1000-series Denon I’d certainly take the 1700H at that price.

Check thrift stores. Might get lucky and find something used and cheap with the inputs you're looking for. Couple weeks ago I found a Denon x1400h for $20.
IMO there's no reason to spend $500 for features you don't need for a basic stereo system.
