Shoulder impingement issue: How to clear it?

A few months ago, I was lifting heavy strict press and climbed to 200. After that, I stripped the barbell down and hit 30 reps at 135 for time.
No issues during or after.
Later that day I did some yard work and pain started at the top/front of the shoulder. I have full range of motion but can feel something like a tight stretching at the top; sometimes a grinding like sensation.
This happened before in my hip where an impingement occurred after really working legs: lunges, Bulgarian split squats, squats, etc. After playing softball that same evening I developed hip pain that turned out to be an impingement and it was eventually cleared.
X-rays show no bone spurs so I think something impinged that afternoon that I have yet to clear it.
Recent surgery elsewhere has kept me out of the gym so this irritation has seemed to increase due to a lack of overall movement.
Any ideas?
I have a nice Tens unit at my disposal as well as a home ultrasonic therapy unit and a massage gun.
Bands in the garage as well for light work/stretching.

It does sound like a nerve impingement, but my only experience was from chronic dislocation problems.
Do you get regular chiro treatment? Maybe time for a visit and see if they can reset your shoulder. If you are against chiro treatments, may need to look into therapy to help relieve the impingement.
I would avoid the tens unit until you know what it is. Not familiar with the ultrasonic therapy unit, but massage gun to the area could help get things moving and potentially release the impingement (assuming that is what it is)

I have a good Chiro to use.
She was the one who cleared the hip impingement. I’ll have to schedule an appointment to see her again.

Try hanging from a rack for a few minutes. When I had shoulder issues this helped immensely.

If it’s truly subacromial bursitis then a steroid injection into the bursa will cure it.

I feel like a shoulder impingement probably should've solved itself by now if you haven't been lifting at all lately. With most lifting related pains/minor injuries I'd agree with you that lack of movement generally makes things worse but impingements, at least in my experience, tend to be an over-use issue. That being said, I'm not an ortho or a PT. This is just my two cents.

It started as an impingement and worsened as i lost weight and strength overall due to the illness and surgery.
Feeling much better and I’ll start with some strengthening exercises in the next few days,
On 8/23, I hit a strict shoulder press of 200 and the impingement issues started a few days later and the illness took me out about two weeks after.
