Backyard is loaded on all the usual trees. Popped out last night. Be on lookout if you are in the woods!
I suck at posting pics. Sorry

I picked a bunch as well. Anybody have any good recipes for them? Never really ate them but wanted to give them a try.

Picked a good bunch after the primitive opener this morning in SE LA.
Flour, egg wash, flour, fry. Can’t beat it.

Where do they grow? Saw a bunch of mushrooms on a dead oak hunting this afternoon and was curious.

Oysters are super easy to identify once you start looking. More than likely the ones you saw today were oysters. Look on any dead standing trees
or old fallen trees a couple days after a good rain. Just google oyster mushrooms LA and you’ll get a good idea of what to look for.

I tear them into 1/2” strips and smother them down with smoked sausage. Damn fine meal over cooked rice.

These looked like those. On a tall dead oak. Gonna check them out this week.
