We just watched Hillbilly Elegy

Me and my wife just watched and it was amazing. Jd is the real deal. The way he grew up makes him so damn relatable and real.
At the end I looked at my wife and chanted "one of us, one of us" lol
His mamaw is a damn carbon copy of my own mamaw. When I was about 7 we were fishing out of an old ouachita trihull boat. Some guys in a glitter boat flew in throwing wake everywhere and said "excuse us we are real fishermen". Mamaw calmy picked up her revolver and put a shot in the water right in front of their bow. They took off so fast they left their trolling motor down. She just went back to fishing and never mentioned it again. Old school granny not to be trifled with lol

they did not say that, you are full of shite! i will be downvoted to hell, but you know you're full of shite. glitter boats are for trump, you do not have to lie about a fake encounter. and if this is something that happened in the movie then i have lost all respect for jd vance.

I had no men in my life growing up so she taught me fishing and what in the woods could be eaten and what could not. She always had a gun with us and I don't ever recall her telling me not to touch it. I just knew.

No that didn't happen in the movie. It happened to me as a kid. Jd's mamaw might have been a bit more badass than my own...she set papa's drunk arse on fire.
