I remember Tennessee fans saying this in 2022 as well until they got humbled by UGA and South Carolina. And I'll say the same thing I said back then - 2019 LSU didn't truly become 2019 LSU until they beat UGA, Oklahoma, and Clemson like absolute drums to win the natty. Only then was their legacy sealed.

The best team Miami has played so far is Louisville. They've barely squeaked by multiple mediocre-bad teams. I will wait to see them face some real teams until I start to crown them. Which might not be until the playoffs, but they remind me of 2014 Florida St, who had to come from behind and squeak past a bunch of crappy ACC teams on the back of a transcendent QB (ring a bell?) until getting btfo by Oregon by 40 points in the playoffs.

It's SOR Being undefeated in a year few others are bolsters your SOR.

Their SOS is #46

In 2019 LSU had the #2 SOS

Lets look at all the ratings of the two from here https://www.espn.com/college-football/fpi/_/view/resume

2019 LSU #1 SOR, #3 FPI, #1 AP/CFP, #3 SOS, #1 GC, #2 AVGWP

2024 Miami #3 SOR, #9 FPI, #4 AP/CFP, #46 SOS, #15 GC, #15 AVGWP

Glossary from the site

quote:

SOR:Strength of Record rank. Reflects chance that an average Top 25 team would have team's record or better, given the schedule.

FPI:Football Power Index Rank vs all FBS teams.

SOS:Rank among all FBS teams of games already played schedule strength, from perspective of an average Top 25 team.

GC:Game Control rank. Reflects chance that an average Top 25 team would control games from start to end the way this team did, given the schedule.

AVGWP:Team's average in-game win probability rank adjusted for chance that an average FBS team would control games from start to end the way this team did, given the schedule.

this is FACT. I got into huge arguments with tennessee friends about that team and in fact all they needed to do was wait a little while and they would get destroyed.

Canes are gonna get rapped by the first team they play in the playoffs(actually that will be the first game against anyone worth a crap).

Talk about overrated.

Also, nice crowd for last weeks game all 20,000 of you.

It says strength of record, not schedule.

I highly doubt Miami will have anywhere near 60 TD passes that Burrow had by season’s end.
