Since we have seen 1 whole game, I will give my assessment of the players so far. These opinions are subject to change on a whim for any reason at all.

1) Flauje Johnson - Incredible at Basketball.

2) McKayla Williams - really good at basketball.

3) Aneesha Morrow - really good at basketball.

4) Samya Smith - pretty darn good at basketball.

5) Shayean Day-Wilson - good at basketball.

6) Jersey Wolfenbarger - good at basketball.

7) Jada Richard - good at basketball.

8) Aaliyah Del Rosario - tall but not good at basketball.

9) Kailyn Gilbert - Athletic but not good at basketball.

If anyone else played they did not make an impression.

They’ll be fine eventually, team chemistry has work to do. Still a lot of talent

I'll get in my yearly pre-conference complaint about leaving the starters in the game. I mean, Flau'jae dribbled the game out.

You're sleeping on Gilbert. She's a good scorer. Had 9 points tonight.

Wolfenbarger looked kind of timid to me. She should still get a decent amount of blocks & rebounds though with her size.

Pao & Sheppard are injured right now. Not sure how long they're out for

Wasn’t she the leading scorer for Arizona last year?

Poa is not injured. She’s not with the team currently as she is suing US immigration services.

Gilbert is a scoring machine. She just has to play defense to get minutes on a Kim Mulkey coached team. Morrow is one of the best players in the country.

Del Rosario is heavy footed and plods down court however, I think she will produce defensively under the basket. She will get the rebounds and will make a few shots.

As stated in the OP, these opinions can and will change based on almost nothing. tonight I felt like Gilbert looked out of control and not in sync on offense.

Hopefully she settles in but she was out of control and took some bad shots in game 1.

Thats why I said she is really good at basketball.

I hope so. I watched her do nothing but take up space on multiple defensive possessions. She just spun in circles as they dribbled around her and then got their own rebound because her reactions were so slow. I think smaller teams are a bad matchup for her and she will be more useful vs teams with big girls down low.

When it comes to pure basketball skills she's one of the most talented on the team

I hope she settles in then. last night it looked like everyone else on the team was playing within our offensive system but when she got the ball it was 1 on 1 AND-1 mix tape BS and it resulted in TOs or bad shots.

Morrow tends to this as well when she receives the ball 24 feet out or on the break.

It’s weird to watch such a good player take bad shots. I mean I can almost read it in her body language and know she’s about to jack it up. Doesn’t really matter though. She’s got the toughness we need to compete with USC. She so damn scrappy. Gotta love that attitude
