Is he the new Russell Shepard?

I know Rickie Collins is the backup, but Johnson would be a weapon running the zone read at QB. Whatever happened to wildcat packages? Not talking about replacing Nuss, but just a few plays a game. They switched him to running back earlier this year, but we haven’t seen much of him.

Reed is a flash in the pan. The reality is that A&M has no qb....and were fortunate in the second half against us. Here is hoping for a rematch in Atlanta. LSU could still end up a 3 seed in this thing.

The reality is that we have no run game.

I’d sure love to give Elko & A&M a taste of their own medicine if we surprise them with Johnson running the zone read

Whatever happened to him getting more touches? Has he gotten the ball the last month of games?

Been calling for a wildcat package in short yardage and goal to go. Looks like that's not happening but it should.

This is what I am hoping for. We know all too well that it is very difficult for a team to beat another team twice in one season.

and we were still dominating them midway in the third quarter, until the lack of effort and focus set in due to being on cruise control...then the crowd took over. Going forward, and maybe this is my hope, but I think they will call some designed QB draws in crucial situations.....where Nuss doesn't have to think about running, he just does it. He is more than capable.

Also, I also hope we have worked on getting a little more creative in the run game and using the short passing game as an extension. I think Nuss threw for his least amount of yards in our most dominating win against a team with a pulse this year (arkansas). It was because we were running the ball.

That said, A&M still has no offense and I expect them to be exposed for that on the road tonight, and SC will hang an L on them.

Johnson was just a 1yr experiment on offense, I’m sure he’ll be back on defense next year. Might as well try to improve our offense this year though

A&M benefited from 3 INTs....i know he had the big play downfield, but they were playing with short fields. Reed is a flash in the pan. I agree

Because your boy Nuss kept throwing them the ball

He’s played every game, but I think that’s on special teams. He got 2 rushes against Arkansas, but probably towards the end of the game

TAM loses 2/3 at end. Either USCe or Auburn beats them at home and Texas beats them. Annual Aggie roll-coaster.

So they switched him to running back and it didn’t work so now you want to make him a quarterback?

Just a running qb on run plays, not really a position switch

Gotcha. I’ve always been a hater of playing 2 QBs, especially when one of the isn’t really a QB. So I find it hard to change my mind just because Marcel Reed was able to run on us.

Johnson could be what everyone wanted Shepard to be

That’s an interesting idea. Seriously. I like it. He might be a spark to get in there and get the running game juices flowing.
