Wish Green would be fired before DA...

Or if they both get fired the same day, it would kinda be epic.

I hope all the Green haters get what they want and they let him go. He gets a nice buyout and probably gets picked up by a contending team to be a high level assistant for the rest of the year. We elevate Borrego to coach a decimated, shallow roster that has no inclination to run any of the offense he has tried to install over and over. It's going to be a total shitshow. Who going to be the fall guy then?

quote:so what do suggest? Keep doing the same thing. I like Willie but I don’t think he’s a good HC. It’s like his players don’t respect him but I think we have a bigger problem… Griff, that’s who I would like to see fired. He got sold to us as a basketball guru. All he can do is play piano

Both are similar in their own rights.
They are great ASSISTANT Coaches....
It's just that simple. Guys excel in certain roles. Both are great at a supporting role.
For what the Saints and Pelicans are built for and the market they produce in, this is the caliber of a Coach you can consume, until management wants to ACT differently, they are CONTENT with getting the similar results they continuously receive.

You should be hoping for a treadmill or a street level Ozempic dealer to pull you to the side at a Los Pollos Hermanos parking lot

Something absolutely needs to change at the top for this organization.
Funny, football and basketball both have the same terrible owner.

This organization has never fired a coach in season so you guys can pretty much get that out of your heads right now.
This is the same organization that held out core players in preseason where they only had 3 games to play and they still managed to get wrecked in injuries in the regular season.
We still haven't even seen Murray, CJ, BI, Z, and Herb together. We still don't even know what our offense looks like with these guys together and we definitely don't know what their sets look like. Like at all.
We run two different offenses when one of BI or Z is off the court and they have to stagger them to get the most out of their "games" and you can't even blame that on JV or Nance anymore. That's sickening to still see it after all of these years and the organization continues to force the fit that clearly doesn't work.

How to value your HC
If he were let go, would Green be hired as an HC again during the next hiring cycle? No.
It’s not even about the results. The process sucks. Y’all will make excuses for him every year

I don't that much. That's why I don't mind him, especially when he's the cheapest coach in the league. I put 90+% of the blame on the front office and players. The greatest coach in the league couldn't save this mess. To watch our games and think that coaching is the primary reason we are struggling is crazy to me.

What does this matter? He would have to go and prove himself for a few years as an assistant again. He's a young coach, some get better over time. He's high character and doesn't embarrass the team, plus players generally like him. This won't be his last opportunity.

Explain this logic to me. The players make over 160M a year. The entire coaching staff makes less than 10M. According to the money, who should have the highest buy in to generate success? How would Zion, making 35M+, and Green, making maybe 3M, have anywhere near the same level of blame?

Hopefully David Griffin.

Exactly. He should be cut off now, so he doesn't make panic trades that screw us over the next couple years. We should ride what we have until the end of the year (end of 2024). If it doesn't turn it around by then, he should be gone. We can put an interim GM/President in place to finish the season. Next offseason, we clean house and start a major reset. New President, GM, coach, trainers, assistants, and move a ton of these players. Nobody should be untouchable. Build it the right way..
