It's an anomaly. I need to see more than 4 games of Zion to say he's regressed in any capacity, especially considering he was 12/19 24 hours ago

Well, it wasn't a pretty 12/19 last night.

I think we should give him more than 5 games to get going. He isn’t in full basketball shape yet. I think Zion is going to get better and better as the season goes on, especially when we get Trey and Dejounte back to play off him

He did good yesterday and has been hustling for rebounds. Feels like his decision making this year has been off. Doesn’t know when to be aggressive or when to pass.

I'm so fricking tired of waiting for Zion to get into basketball shape. He's a grown arse man being paid millions to play basketball. He should be in basketball shape at least 330 days a year.

I think you’re right but it also says something about him that he doesn’t come into the season in shape. A lot of stars spend the off season adding to their game and getting better, Zion does not

quote:Well when you have manipulated the media narrative to say that you are in shape when you are clearly not (the weight is the issue, nothing more nothing less) then you can get away with it.

That dude is not in good shape. He's fluffy asf and it's starting to get to a point where it's slowing him down 6 years in. Most players are naturally jumping less high 6 years into their career, speed and quickness tend to last until 32-33 while declining over time.
Everytime he sheds the weight, his numbers get back on track. He always starts the season missing bunnies, most likely because he doesn't hoop in the off season. I ain't really tripping on that. He is just not as explosive going forward and jumping towards the basket right now and he won't be until we notice an actual difference in his weight.

This is what scares the hell out of me. When Zion's bounce is gone, what is left of his game? That's why I'm leaning toward cashing out while we still can. Dude's knees and feet have taken punishment.

See, that's the part we all need to be tripping on. The greats don't have an offseason, they play and train year round. The best way to get and stay in basketball shape is by playing basketball every day.
