GMFS sold my loan to Freedom Mortgage. Anyone ever dealt with them and if so, how are they?

They've held my current mortgage for 11 years and I've had no problems with them. They paid most of our closing costs to refinance during Covid.

They do spam the shite out of you with mail and emails about cash out refinances etc but other than that no complaints

Yeah one of my loans was sold to them last year. Seems fine, no issues making extra payments.

But they definitely ask every other email or sign in if you want to do cash out refinancing or to sign up for them to contact you special offers all the time

8 years, no problems. Pretty easy to work with. They will spam you about refinancing, HELOCs, etc.

They did want me to do an "EZ" refinance during covid. Basically, just lowering my APR for free without all of the extra work or closing costs. Kind of weird so I didnt. I should have.

I started a thread on here about the same thing during Covid wondering what the catch was. I ended up doing it. They kept my term the same and lowered my rate to 2.3%.

Yeah, I'm kicking myself for it. I could have saved quite a bit.

I have had them for quite a while. I got laid off during COVID and we had to do a mortgage forbearance with them and they were very easy to deal with. I don’t have any complaints.

Honest question - what could they do that was bad? All the mortgages I ever had, I was utterly indifferent to who owned the paper in the end. I had the payments on auto pay and never thought twice about.

Refinanced with them as well. Painless. Very easy to deal with. I was concerned when my Mortgage was sold to them for some reason but no complaints at all

Some mortgage companies have horrible customer service and are difficult to get anything done and late paying property taxes and insurance.

Never had an issue with them.

GMFS has been on a selling spree apparently.

They just sold my mortgage to Mr. Cooper

My mortgage was sold several years ago. I received a notice my flood insurance had lapsed for failure to pay premiums. I called the mortgage company and they had determined on their own since I was in a X zone they wouldn’t pay the premium. At the time Hurricane Ivan was barreling across the gulf. I paid the flood myself to re-instate coverage and due to my low LTV was able to cancel my escrow all together. I then assumed responsibility to pay taxes and insurance on my own,

I guess I've never had to "get anything done".

My current loan doesn't escrow, so I guess I would never notice such.
