Would Ryan Day leave Ohio St. for UF?

A few days ago on a youtube channel (Buddy Martin, been covering UF for over 50 years), he had on a guy that has been covering UF for a long time. He mentioned some whispers about UF potentially going after Ryan Day - and if that were to happen, Day would go to UF with Mark Pantoni (Dir Player Personnel), maybe Mickey Marotti (S&C), and that Charlie Strong would be sought as the DC.
Day was a grad asst for Meyer at UF back in that era.
Apparently some people out there feel that Day could be receptive to making a move and leaving Ohio St.
Anyone find this plausible?

I guess anything is possible but Ohio State has more money and better recruiting situation than maybe anyone in the country. They also have an easier path in the BIG. Day also seems too young to snowbird.
Only way I see it is if he’s getting a lot of pressure at Ohio State and feels like he could be fired soon.

I mean that would be a major step down for him unless the boosters really want him gone especially if he loses to Michigan for a 4th straight year.

Ryan Day inherited a top tier team, and has not been able to do anything with it. I can give Day credit in that he keeps them in the hunt and has sustained more or less.

Also, Day has never had to rebuild a program. Florida needs someone who fundamentally can build a strong institution. You need a control freak.

You act like Florida doesn't have as high expectations as Ohio State. This is a program who fired a coach coming off back-to-back division titles in less than three years (Jim McElwain) and a coach coming off two top 10 finishes and a division title in four years (Dan Mullen).

Unless he gets fired, why on Earth would he ever do that? Florida is not a better program than Ohio State.

He's always been considered an elite DC.

I mean he has kept them as a top 5 program and his losses have all been to legitimate top 10 type teams

UGA
3 of his 9 losses were to the national champs that season.
I will say something seems a bit off this season. Maybe it's that too many older guys came back who are "established" and therefore didn't have to bite and scrap for the starter position and it may have been given. I know everyone says they work hard but having to fight every day to beat the guy next to you for that spot has to weigh in. The starting DEs for example are good, but they have been starters for 3 years and were both top 5 consensus players and have been overall just "good" not All-American type kids like they should be given their recruiting rankings and number of games played

McElwain faked death threats and obstructed a LE investigation.
Dan Mullen got UF on probation, got a show cause order, and stopped doing his job. And he refused to make staff changes when everyone in the nation knew it needed to be done. He also let it be known he wanted to leave. He was shopping his name around the NFL prior to his last season. He should have been fired in 2020, when his buyout was $0, but Stricklin gave him a raise and an extension, and an unmitigated buyout - after getting UF on probation and getting the show cause order.

Has he? I remember some bad years too. Why is he an analyst instead of being a DC if he’s still elite? He hasn’t been a DC since 2009
